Financial messaging system of the Bank of Russia (SPFS)

The financial messaging system of the Bank of Russia (SPFS) was launched in 2014 in order to provide banks with independent and secure mechanism of exchanging financial information.

The SPFS services:

  • SWIFT MT messaging*;
  • customer proprietary format messaging;
  • validation of messages;
  • senders’ list management

* — all types of SWIFT MT messages:

  • type 1 (MT 1XX) — Customer Payments and Cheques
  • type 2 (MT 2XX) — Financial Institution Transfers
  • type 3 (MT 3XX) — Treasury Markets: Foreign Exchange and Derivatives
  • type 4 (MT 4XX) — Collection and Cash Letters
  • type 5 (MT 5XX) — Securities Markets
  • type 6 (MT 6XX) — Treasury Markets: Metals and Syndications
  • type 7 (MT 7XX) — Documentary Credits and Guarantees
  • type 8 (MT 8XX) — Travellers Cheques
  • type 9 (MT 9XX) — Cash Management and Customer Status

The SPFS is available 24 hours daily.

In order to become the SPFS customer an organization should send the application and copy of registration documents (translated to Russian, authenticated by apostille) to e-mail
